This week marks a significant milestone for our beloved community space with the recent approval of listed building consent grant PA24/07663, awarded on 21st March 2025. This exciting news sets the stage for a series renovations funded by The National Lottery Community Fund aimed at enhancing both comfort and accessibility for all our community users.
We are revitalising our space while preserving its unique heritage, from refurbishing historic windows to installing modern infrared heaters that will replace the outdated gas boiler from the 1970s. We are also committed to making our space welcoming for everyone, which includes building a new wheelchair accessible toilet facility that ensures all community members can enjoy the spaces.

Enhancing Accessibility
Creating an inclusive environment is vital for community engagement. The addition of a new, accessible toilet facility will address previous limitations. This upgrade will ensure that everyone can comfortably utilise our facilities, which is an important step forward for current and future community groups to make best use of the spaces.

Looking Ahead
As renovations commence this week, we appreciate the community’s patience and support. While work may cause some temporary disruptions, the long-term benefits will undoubtedly outweigh these inconveniences.
These enhancements are just the beginning. The newly upgraded community space promises to become an even more vibrant hub for events, gatherings, and classes. Watch this space to follow the progress of the refurbishments.
